ALARMING STATE OF DEMOCRACY

                                                         ALARMING STATE OF DEMOCRACY
Immediately after Independence, our democratic set up was established with good intentions to take care of the different denominations of the people irrespective of caste/Creed or Religion, giving equal rights to each citizen of India. It had a vision to be secular in its administration both at centre and in the states. The united efforts of all the parties could form the Government for a period of five years at a stretch and thereafter for the next term by electing representatives to the state legislature and to the Parliament.
But of late, there have been drastic changes in the pattern of forming the Government both at the centre and at the state level due to formation of several parties with different policies and concepts. Very often the functioning of the Government was at stake due to dissimilar opinions and policies of each component of the government machinery resulting in undue delay causing monetary loss and time over run.  The progresses of the targeted developmental projects were stalling for want of timely decision. Such indecisions were mainly due to non compatibility of the thoughts and actions of the Ministers and the Administrative officers of the IAS/IPS cadre.
The causes for such unhappy situations are only due to the ideological and technical differences in sorting out the problems confronting the State or Centre. Very often such difference of opinion in the Administration reflects in the Parliament and assembly sessions resulting in continuous adjournment of the state assembly & Parliament. Even unpleasant scenes of wild and crude behavior on the part of the elected representatives are seen on the Screen (TV).
The only remedy to bring our representatives to behave in a soberly manner is to introduce certain important features in the qualities of the politicians who are to be elected to the Apex body –Parliament and to the State legislature. Well educated and sufficiently qualified people only to be permitted to stand as a candidate for the election. Once the minimum educational standard and knowledgeable level is matching with that of the IAS/IPS officers, naturally there will be mutual respect and tolerance in the matter of discussion and finding a solution to the problems at the State level or at the Centre.  Allotment of the portfolio of ministry also to be done in line with the qualification of the person concerned.
Appointment of persons in any department or private enterprises has a definite procedure for selection. Similar procedure if adopted in electing peoples’ representatives to the Government, we will save our Democracy from a probable disaster..

INSECURITY IN LIFE

INSECURITY IN LIFE
Earlier the crimes and criminal activities were projected and planned in secrecy and enacted   without leaving any evidence in the crime for fear of the judiciary and the attended punishment. But this attitude of the criminals has changed over to direct action by proclaiming or declaring their intention of killing someone in public.  To subscribe such inhuman actions  some of the “Money Mongering” advocates plead for these criminals bringing in untrue arguments and false witnesses to protect the interests of the accused.  These advocates instead of  proving/disproving the criminal act on the floor of the Court of law, adopting the accepted principles of law always turn out to be a spokesman of the criminal with  preplanned  false witnesses and arguments to protect the  person involved in the crime. Such support will always lead to vicious situations  of uncertain issues in the smooth functioning of the judiciary in finalizing the case.
Nowadays the criminals have a different plan of action, as they are very confident that the crime against them will not be finalized  in the near future due to interference of cunning and money minded advocates resorting to unholy means to defend their case. Very often the true exposure of the case with genuine witnesses and arguments are lacking , resulting in the acquittal of the accused. Knowing this fact, the criminals  resort to direct action  and do not hesitate to commit murder  or cause fatal injuries to anyone  reporting  against their unsocial activities.
Thus “the triangle of forces”  ie, the Criminal/his advocate/witnesses, instead of acting  in unison with the Judiciary on the same line of action ,  deviate  on a different path  running in opposite directions. Such conditions must not prevail and we should have a better deal by amending the constitutional provisions to suit the present Generation.. The Indian Constitution was prepared  considering all the people as sober & straight forward  in their outlook in life. But this situation does not exist now. People have become more arrogant , cunning and not frank in their thoughts & actions. Their tendency is to hide the facts and mislead the judiciary through introvert advocates.
Therefore a total revamping of the whole system of Administration is necessary  to set right the present  cloudy and mantled condition  which delays the process of detection of crime and imposing punishment to the criminal.

PMA & NMA

Positive & Negative Mental Attitudes
When God created man, HE created him with fullness of life giving him the choice to select the good and reject the evil thoughts. Both these qualities, the Positive & negative Mental Attitudes (PMA & NMA) were given to man only to have a comparison between the two and to adopt the +ve nature by experiencing the evil effects of the –ve attitudes.
The negative attitude only influenced Cain to kill his brother. This negative attitude was inherited by him from ADAM who disobeyed God and followed the ways of the Satan. That nature of man is still perpetuated and propagated though the generations starting from Abraham/Isaac/Jacob. The Devil took over control of the mankind and the human beings resorted to “short cuts” to achieve his goal adopting the –ve means in life. The +ve side of life can only thrive if there are challenges of overpowering the devilish ideas by patient and persistent action.
The Politics & the Religions have tread on the path of good & evil in the administration, whether it is Assembly or Parliament or Religious meetings. The positive nature will always have a predetermined plan and path and one has to strive hard to attain the desired end by judiciously adopting the same. The negative side always resort to short circuiting the regular means and takes over the “end justifies the means” method and creates unholy and unhealthy situations.
Of late the political parties and religious denominations have fallen into –ve category to achieve their mission, as the +ve thinking is always time consuming and painstaking.  The party feelings are uppermost amongst the different groups and this leads to crude & rude behavior towards other groups resulting in heinous crimes. Cooperation and mutual respects are not found in the life style of the Politicians & Religious leaders. They disregard the points of view of others with contempt or disdain.
The Religious circle also is incorrigibly damaged by the –ve attitudes of the leaders in all the denominations. More so, it is felt very badly in our Christian leadership. The shepherd is not able to understand the “pains & agonies” of the sheep. The short tempered leader gets annoyed when there is a problem. Instead of finding a solution, he passes it on to the lower level thereby causing irreparable damage to the religious fabric.
Jesus said, “I have come to serve & not to be served”. This positive nature has been turned turtle by the present religious leaders. Their attitude is just the Reverse!  They have the attitude “we have come to be served & not to serve”.  No patience to hear the problems slowly and to act “slow and steady” with forethought and cooperation with people around.
We are on the last Lap of our Journey on the Earth. God will definitely remold and recast His creations very soon, as HE cannot bear with the present generation anymore…

POLITICAL REVIVAL

     Political Revival

Political activity in life is a noble service to the people of a democratic country. Selfless and sacrificial life for the society must be the main goal for any politician. Now the whole concept of politics has been waylaid by rude & crude people who enter into politics with “ AN AXE TO GRIND”. There  are  criminals also finding a place in this group of BAD politicians. These people uphold the party spirit very often higher than the selfless service to the fellow countrymen. The concerted efforts of all the political denominations are not found in the REALM of politics in India. Everyone finds faults with others and do not very often highlight the policies and projects for the betterment of the public at large.

The State Assembly OR  the Parliament are very serene and august places where administrators gather together to decide on the burning issues of the State or Country. But very often we find that these two VENUES are turning to a CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE FIELD between rivals. They care a TWOPENCE for the Time Loss or the Monetary Loss in such Assembly or Parliament session.

It is high time that the Politicians wake up from their insubordination and indiscipline and join hands together for the progress of the Nation in this competitive world of today

Democracy in India

IS OUR DEMOCRACY ON ITS LAST VOYAGE?
Earlier I had written an article on our life Before & After independence. The sanctity of our Democracy is deteriorating very fast and if we do not arrest this downward trend we may witness the collapse of this democratic governance very soon.
We have presently a set of elected representatives (selected?) who seem to be not bothered about their responsibilities and commitments to the people who brought them to power. Most of these MLAs/MPs are behaving so unmannerly in Assembly & Parliament resulting in disruption causing untimely adjournments of the sessions. These politicians are nurturing and maintaining their party interests only and not trying to find solutions to the numerous problems faced by the public at large. The sufferings of the people are always on the increase and no action is taken timely to protect the common man to live a peaceful life.
Murders and brutal killings are daily occurrences in this country of ours! We are afraid of our own countrymen than those who are termed as our enemies!! Why we should fight against our neighboring countries when we are at STAKE in our own country? I find that the leadership failure is the root causes of this plight of ours. The leaders are not able to guide and control the followers resulting in chaos and unruly assaults on people and public properties. The leaders fall in line with the followers! That is the bane of our society. We do not have a committed and responsible LEADER who can take us to a GREEN PASTURE.
The intended policy & structure of the Judiciary & police was to work independently without being interfered or influenced by the politicians. But now the whole system have been “turned turtle” by the interference of the introvert politicians. Both these departments must be free to perform and there should not be any external forces acting on them… Therefore the Constitutional provisions have to be observed in both Style & Use if we are to exist peacefully in this Independent country. Otherwise we will perish in a worst deplorable manner.
