ARUSHI MURDER CASE

                                                                    ARUSHI MURDER CASE

A Double murder done by the parents from the THALWAR family? How can we parents, living in this 21st century, react on such dastardly act from the Daddy & Mummy of an innocent girl in her early teens. The parent has brutally killed their minor daughter said to have done the offensive act in her innocence due to external forces at that moment of time? In the final judgment pronounced after  hearing thread bear about the case, the learned judge in his wisdom has punished the couple for life imprisonment.  In what category such a heinous crime can be classified? I think the worst category we can think of ! Can we classify the murders in the following categories?

1.        Direct murder on sudden impulse -unintentional

2.        Planned murder ( cold blooded )     - intentional

3.        Direct murder for self defense        -  personal security

4.        Indirect murder through “ Professional killers”

5.        Ambushed murder ( Military operation)

6.        Rarest of the rare – butchering/slicing into pieces/ packing in boxes etc!!?

Now our present case can be classified in any of the above categories? It may be on “Sudden impulse “of the parents when they saw their daughter in an awkward and inexcusable situation with a man. Even then, can the loving parents murder their minor girl child in this fashion? She must have erred due to compelling circumstances and the parents should not have gone to that extent of killing her without giving their daughter a chance to correct herself. Instead they should have apprehended the man and handed him over to police.

THALWAR means SWORD. The members of the family are equipped with sword “to kill” as implied by the family name? This case reminds me the words of Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare’s drama “Macbeth” when she says”, All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hands”, after killing king Duncan..Lady Macbeth at least repented about the crime she did. But here the parents are still defending their stand in this murder case where their teenage daughter was killed! According to me they cannot be termed as “MATHA PITHA”. The saying of the “Holy Books” is coming to pass in our time. All our dealing with children & grownups must have a Divine nature in thought & action.

ESCLUSIVE BANKS FOR WOMEN

                                                      WOMEN BANKS

The latest thinking of starting “women bank” is a farfetched idea mooted by few experts in the banking system. How could such women bank help the women in the banking business? Have we not sufficient women employees in the banks as on now, managing well and taking care of both men & women clients/customers?

Now, how come a “women bank” can ease the situation in banking by women, better than the system available at present?  Can I take it that only women will manage the whole banking business and only women will be availing the facilities in such “women banks”. Even as on date there are equal or more women employees in the banks than ever before, sometimes exceeding the number of men.

Will this novel idea of opening women banks result in free space in the banking business for women without any interference of men in between? Is it because of the harassment and untoward behavior of men towards the women, which gave rise to such innovation in banking sector?

In that case why we will not have a” separate state for women”, especially when the women suffer a lot on account of torture from men all over India?  We can give the women a “fenced up” enclosure where they will safely remain from the cruelties of men! Will it be a practical idea?. I have brought in many questions which need to be addressed so that an amicable solution can be found to solve the intimidating situations, the women of today confront, in their day to day life.

Most of our remedial measures are short cut methods- Dig a hole to fill a hole! Always one  hole is left over.. Because of the frequent accidents in the Airways/Railways/ Roadways, can we stop these transport system to prevent fatal accidents? No, then what next?. Unless we commit ourselves to the CALL and take responsibility in managing the system of Governance, we will continue to suffer irreparable loss to humanity in the coming years. Let us strike the IRON when it is HOT!

AERODROME AT ARANMULA

GROW MORE AIRPORTS
OR

GROW MORE FOOD?

Do we really need another Airport? Kerala the narrow strip of land at the southern end of the Indian peninsula has adequate transport facilities now by way of Railway lines, /Roads and Airports. The available roads and railways are to be utilized fully for our internal and domestic journeys, by improving the qualities of the roads and also connecting all the towns and villages by radial roads. The railway lines also must be doubled to provide speedy travel.

Additional airports will not add to the social or economic growth of the state. But instead it will create untold miseries to the local people and also involve destruction of the paddy fields and cultivable lands and also eviction of many families. Provision of one more airport at Aranmula will not be advantageous as the Indians in Gulf and other countries are slowly repatriating to their homeland. In such a situation people travelling to Kerala and vice versa will be nominal. The airports will slowly add to the list of “Sinking Assets” in future and the state will suffer heavy financial loss.

I feel that such speculative planning for more number of airports in the state will be detrimental to the peaceful living of the people of kerala- the narrow corridor of the southern tip..

Our prime necessity now is to GROW MORE FOOD for the people staying in spread out manner, unlike in the other states of India. Here we do not have space to move out and acquisition of vast areas will cause dangerous conditions to the people of the neighboring villages who will have no land to cultivate or to grow food grains in the paddy fields.
The Government must start cooperative farming and produce more food grains and vegetables for the use of our people. Therefore the disturbed ground at Aranmula must be utilized for GROWING MORE FOOD. As on now, we are waiting for the food grains and vegetables to come to us from the neighboring states!. Therefore let us become self sufficient in our food grains production. Let us “Strike other chords” and play a different meaningful tune in Style & Use for the betterment of the people who really need basic necessities of life. A need based approach is necessary in the matters of infrastructural developments.

Let us not OPEN ANOTHER OUTLET FOR SMUGGLING GOODS!!

CELEBRITY Vs MP

                            CINEMA CELEBRITY   VS POLITICAL CELEBRITY

The society gives respect to the Ladies especially on public stages where they are invited for some public function organized by responsible people. In such occasions, it is quite natural that people throng in large numbers to see their favourite  actor or actress at a close range.. In such occasions there will be push & pull in the crowd to have a close view of their celebrity. In the jostling, it is quite possible that unintentional movements of people nearby may result in bodily contacts.  Inadvertently the VIP in the crowd also experienced the same situation.

Therefore the reported incident that took place at Kollam may not be attributed as a willful crime against the equally or more important person,( the elected Member of Parliament of the locality), does not seem to be a correct reaction from the VIP lady. After creating a commotion and hue &cry in the public through visual media and having done the damage to the prestige of the MP, withdrawal of the case does not cure the bruises caused in the mind of the MP who is a respectable person. In fact the case that is already initiated by the police may be processed to arrive at the exact position and also to prove the innocence or guilt in the reported case against the MP. Such kind of sudden reaction and then cooling down later when the situations are not favourable, will tell upon the status of the aggrieved person and also the person reported to have misbehaved. , As an elderly person I feel that, such altercation should have been avoided by the celebrity by proper insight as a matured person in public notice.

Before closing this note, I would like to comment on such recent incidents on the public stage enacted by well known celebrity Sri. Sharukh Khan.  He, in one of the functions held recently lifted up RinyTomy, another celebrity in his arms and swung around the stage, much to the uproar and appreciation of such behavior!.  Even Rini Tomy was happy to have such a recognition!. Deliberate and conscious actions of celebrities are well contained and appreciated by the artists and the public, while inadvertent movements or contacts without any prejudiced  intentions are overemphasized in public?

But in this instant case, the organizer of the function, on account of the heavy pressure of the crowd, might have lost his balance and might have touched the VIP, without any preformed idea of molesting her. Now analyzing the whole episode of the reported case of misbehavior on the part of the MP, it is clear that this is a case of apprehension on the part of the complainant and not a willful act from the MP, who organized the show without any evil intention.  The withdrawal of the case by the VIP lady also confirms the above thinking.  Celebrities while in an unruly crowd must be tolerant, calm & collected and must maintain divinity in their reactions..
