NEGLIGENCE OF DUTY

                                                       Mishap in the passenger Train
Such failure of the under frame & trolly assembly on the run is never heard of in the history of the Railways since its inception. Why such accidents happen when we have regular chartered program of inspection of the rolling stock and timely maintenance by officers at different levels? This type of failure shows that the departmental officers & men are not committed to their tasks and take everything for granted. This kind of lethargy on the part of the maintenance staff is telling upon the performance and of the safety of railway journey. The public will lose confidence in the railway travel.
Being a retired railway officer, I feel thoroughly disturbed in my mind to have heard such grave situation in the railway system. That means the close knit railway operations in coordinating the other departments is in disarray! The dent caused due to this major failure will damage the whole FABRIC of the Railway organization. The Divisional and headquarters level officers must take serious concern on such disastrous situation.
The system of maintenance of the rolling stock is unique and this system was followed “biblically” by the officers and staff during the past. I have never come across such gross negligence during my railway service from 1956 to 1992.
Revamping of the whole set up of the Mechanical department is necessary to avoid occurrences of this nature in future. It is requested that the regular maintenance schedules & charts handed to us by our predecessors must be strictly followed in Style & Use by all concerned.

KNOW YOURSELF

                Know Thyself
We always try to understand the other man’s attitude and comment upon. But seldom try to find out our own behavior with our fellow beings. May be selfish motives and self centered approach only make this difference? To know oneself we have to explore the following things :-

1.   Self realization
2.   Godly nature in You
3.   Your neighbor and You
4.   Your belongings and You
5.    Your greatest enemy ie-You

Realization of our own self is the greatest task before us. It is not difficult to understand the temperament and behavior of a person whom you come across in your daily life. But understanding of our own self is difficult and needs the Spirit of God to act upon you and thereby kindle up the inner man to expose the qualities in you. Once we become aware of our shortcomings and also realize the inbuilt Godliness in us, we become a changed person both in body and spirit. Thereafter there will a pronounced change in your outlook and relation with others. Attaining this status or state of mind is difficult unless we crush down the “I” in us( the egoistic feelings of mind)

The next stage is to know the person whether at home or outside the office or in public places. Once this person recognizes your personal traits and takes you as a friend or well-wisher, he opens his mind before you. Thus the confidence we created in the mind of the neighbor will tune up your mind to extend maximum help to him in his adversity. This change over of our mindset will lead us to realize the unseen power of GOD. This stage is the ultimate aim of any individual for attaining peace in his life. The GOD Almighty takes over the reign when we are amenable to His commands and helpful to the people who need our support duly sharing our belongings with others.
The three-in-one combination ie. You/Neighbor/God will form a Life Triangle, the smallest perfect frame in the life cycle of any human being. This unit force when linked with the Universal network creates a world of “Unity in action” for a peaceful life on this Earth.
Therefore we have to fight out and defeat the attitudes of our greatest Enemy – OUR SELF- by knowing our own SELF and obeying the commands of our INNER-MAN..

METRO RAIL PROJECT

                                                                     KMRL Vs DMRC
Foolish comments are coming from different sources. One such comment I have seen in the news reel of Asianet news today (12.11.2012). The comment from Mr. P C George chief whip of the ruling party is disgusting. In fact he has used his “WHIP” in an awkward manner without knowing the Importance of Dr. Sreedharan in the fast developments of the Railway System in India. Yes, anybody can do anything but the difference is in the style & use of technical knowledge in the most economical and efficient way to complete the task within the time frame. as Dr Sreedharan was doing throughout his life in the Indian Railway Service of Engineers.

But if Mr. P C George or somebody else takes over such difficult tasks, the period of completion will be 20 or more years, whereas Dr. Sreedharan will complete the project within 4 years!. That is the difference. So such silly comments like” If SREEDHARAN IS NOT THERE, NOBODY CAN DO THIS METRO” is irrelevant. We all know that one day we have to QUIT this earthly life. That does not mean that YOU will GO TO SLEEP as tomorrow is not ours, an Epicurean philosophy!. Dr. Sreedharan even in this old age he is prepared to render his services to the Nation, not with an “Axe to grind” but with the Zeal of patriotism to his motherland. If his willingness to render his services in the developments of the state of Kerala, is misconceived and misinterpreted, well I have to say after the great philosopher Dr JOHNSON  “IGNORANCE MADAM PURE IGNORANCE”.

I have had close association with Dr. Sreedharan during the past 50 years and I at this moment of time can boldly say that “The Like him Comes Rare”. Therefore people in authority should control their language and vocabulary very CAREFULLY so that the words spoken must not INJURE anybody at any level. One should remember that “TONGUE IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD”

DEMOCRACY IN INDIA

DEMOCRACY – GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE
Mutual respect and trust are the most essential qualities for a Democratic Government Machinery. But unfortunately we have a set of elected representatives in the Administrative and political cadre, who are devoid of the above qualities. They think and act in different directions and with introvert attitudes finally resulting in a diverted or aborted mission.
Rivalry amongst the ruling party & the opposition parties “Spoil the Broth”. They on their efforts to excel each other finally fight on the street and lead the common people on a suicidal pedestal! I have a feeling that we people in India, particularly in Kerala cannot maintain a Democratic Governance as we are still in the “primitive mind” with an attitude of “the Fittest to Survive”. Such situations are created by the politicians who wanted to become rich overnight by resorting to unholy methods and short-cuts. They even do not hesitate to destroy the life & property of those who are not in their line of action.
The “Common Balance”, which always tries to balance the +ve and –ve qualities, is now tilted towards the Negative side by the misdoings and improper management of the Government machinery. If the positive side of life does not overpower the negative or satanic tendencies by sustained efforts of the people in authority, we are destined for a disastrous end. Therefore we have to “strike other chords”. Patriotic people must sit down together and think in the same line of action to retrieve our Democracy on a mutually agreeable platform and to device ways & means to come out of the muddle we are in.  Definitely different ideas are prone to happen in a country like India with linguistic and cultural differences. But a common line of action, without injuring the feelings of people belonging to different areas and religious denominations, must be adhered to maintain a steady growth in our Economic and social conditions. Redundant or distorted views in the Policy & Implementation should not endanger the peaceful life of the people at any cost.
So it is high time for all   of us to get together without any Party politics and move forward with Unity in Action for the peaceful and fearless life of people of  our Mother India, if not the whole world. Let us pull the Rope Together so that the “Resultant Force” is within our Control..
