EMERGING KERALA

                       EMERGING  KERALA- GOD'S OWN COUNTRY-

“Emerging” is an attractive word and the speed of emergence and onward marching with equal pace with others in the run must be  followed with resonance  in all the activities at different levels of operations .  For a state like Kerala, with limited resources  both immovable and movable assets, it is of great importance  in such enterprises to monitor systematically  the sequence of  operation of different stages involved in the projected programs.

Human Resource potential is very high in our state and all are equally competent to master any trade or business as an individual. But when it comes to a Group activity where everybody has to share his/her responsible participation, in the common interests, things go wrong for want of cooperation and synchronized working at different levels of operation. Mutual respect and appreciation lacks in many cases resulting in slowing down of the projected progress. The natural tendency is to prompt others to work, than ourselves doing our part of the job.

Our past experiences show that we were irregular in the timely maintenance of our assets, with a scheduled program. The industrial units and other installations suffered due to failure of machinery and heavy monetary loss caused to the government. Lack of personal touch and application of mind in discharging our duties at the right time, caused damage to the industrial units and other government and public sector undertakings. The “ mind set” of we people in Kerala is already taken a “permanent set”. Now it is difficult to rewind or remold into a better frame of mind for committed service. The assets handed over to us by our predecessors are still with us only because they maintained them meticulously. But on our part we neglected their upkeep and  sustained loss “beyond local repair”.

Trade unions and other organizations were intended to uphold the interests of the management & workers so as to
create a peaceful atmosphere in the industrial units or departments.  But of late, the whole system of management
both in the employer and employees relation has been strained resulting in break down of the enterprising sectors.
The unsocial elements exploited this situation and disrupted the functioning of the industry/department resulting
in closing down of many industries.

Therefore, before we embark on introducing international participation in major projects in kerala, we have to  be
doubly careful in launching such  commercially viable program. Absolute dedication and determination at all levels
of management & employees are essential to accomplish the tasks before us. That being so, our outlook has to
undergo drastic changes  to handle heavy projects with foreign collaboration. There should not be cessation of the
progress of work at any stage, which may cause desertion of the project en route! There should be resonance  in the
thoughts and action of the political parties without any rivalry amongst them or  with any “Strings attached”.

In that case we will Emerge in a big way!!
